Our Donation to Macmillan cancer charity
Cheque presentation from all at Edmond Shipway for our fundraising for the cancer charity Macmillan.
Special thanks to all the staff from offices across the UK who have undertaken a host of events to raise funds over the past 12 months, from extreme cycling challenges, to mammoth mountain climbing and even a hosting their own car themed “Top Gear challenge”.
Stacey Smalley, the Nottinghamshire Fundraising Manager for Macmillan, accepted the cheque from our Director, Daman Ranby, saying; “I was so delighted to find out Edmond Shipway had chosen Macmillan as their charity for the year. From the very first meeting everyone got involved with ideas and plans to raise as much money as possible for us. They are such a passionate and hardworking bunch and I knew they were going to reach their fundraising target with no problems.”
“After a year of cake sales, climbing mountains, 10k runs, cheerleading teams, a raffle at the races, Euro 2016 flutter, 950 mile cycle ride and a top gear challenge, they have raised a huge £15k. This will make a difference to so many people living with cancer through our information centres, helpline and Macmillan professionals working in the community” she went on to add.
Daman Ranby, who was part of the team that tackled the 950 mile bike ride from Land’s end in Cornwall to John O’Groats in Scotland, said; “It is a great privilege to be able to play a small part in recognising the tremendous work undertaken by Macmillan Cancer Support, who are an organisation providing an invaluable lifeline to everyone affected by cancer. I am sure we all know someone who has had their life impacted by this condition and Macmillan ensure that there’s always someone there to offer the support, energy and inspiration needed at a time when you may well be at your most vulnerable. We are delighted to have been able to help them continue being there.”
