James Barry and Adrian Farren of our Birmingham office attended the opening of Holder Road Youth Centre in Yardley. “The Vibe” was formally a dilapidated youth club which has been transformed into an excellent new facility for people in the area.
The opening ceremony was attended by local government, community groups and young people. The building was originally planned for demolition and is now a real asset to the local community being used by elderly groups and young people alike, alongside Cubs, Brownies and other similar organisations.
Facilities include computer studio, dance hall and music recording suite. Kitchen facilities were also installed to offer a commercial aspect to the building.
We provided Quantity Surveying and Project Safety services for the scheme which was undertaken for our Client, Birmingham City Council’s Youth Services Division, as part of our 5 year construction consultancy framework agreement arrangement. To encourage a partnering ethos the NEC Target Cost form of contract was used.
